Proposed Amendments to Ontarios Toxics Reduction Act Regulation O. Reg. 455/09
The MOECC had proposed a number of changes to the toxic substances reduction planning process. Major amendments include changing the date for review and preparation of new versions of plans (currently December 31, 2018) to December 31 2019, and requiring subsequent reviews every 6th year rather than every 5th year. This is being proposed in anticipation of a significant number of changes to the NPRI substances lists for 2018-19 and also to better align with NPRI review cycles.
In addition, the MOECC proposed to clarify that annual report information (plan summaries and public accounting summaries) should be placed on the publically-accessible internet before December 31 in the calendar year that the report is submitted and remain on there as long as it is valid.
