A detailed hygiene and hazardous waste study was carried out at a ferrous alloy plant. The study included measurement in the plant for air-entrained iron, lead, magnesium, manganese and nickel particulates, oil mist, epichlorohydrin, phenol, formaldehyde and sulphur dioxide. Other parameters evaluated were heat stress, humidity and noise. Landfill waste from a baghouses and other process waste streams were also analyzed to determine whether these streams were meeting OME Reg.
