Airzone worked with a federal government research centre to assess the impacts of proposed residential developments nearby. Airzone compiled an extensive, multi-pollutant emissions inventory from a large area surrounding the centre and quantified emissions for past and present periods, and with the proposed development in place. Dispersion modelling with the U.S. EPA ISC3 model quantified impacts on air quality measurements at the centre. The results were used to determine development limits allowed for different directions and distances from the centre, to minimize impacts on long-term measurement programs. The quantified thresholds were used to formalize a property development agreement with the local municipality.
