During COVID-19 Airzone field personnel will conduct air and noise monitoring under the following conditions:
Option A “ Collection of Personal and Area samples *** (Most Preferred Option)
Airzone will conduct air monitoring and noise testing similar to past assessments.
1. Personal and area samples are collected over the entire shift
2. The Airzone technician will attach the personal sampling equipment, including dust monitoring pumps, VOC samplers, CO, and noise monitors, on workers in the pre-selected areasunder the following conditions:
- The equipment including the dust monitoring pumps, CO, and noise monitors will be sanitized using disinfecting wipes prior to deployment.
- The VOC monitors are freshly opened at each location and are assumed to be sterile. These cannot be sanitized using chemical agents as these will interfere with the analysis.
- The Technician will wear a non-medical mask while on-site or when interacting with people.
- The Technician will wash hands thoroughly and often and wear disposable gloves when deploying and collecting sampling equipment.
- Workers should wear non-medical masks and other PPE if available including disposable gloves.
- The technician will maintain 2 meter physical distancing requirements when not wearing the aforementioned PPE.
Please note the technician will need to be close to the workers to attach sampling equipment but will be using PPE for Option A . This is the most preferred option as the equipment will be deployed by the technician ensuring that this stage of the sampling is done accurately.
Option B “ Collection of Personal and Area samples ** (Acceptable Option)
Airzone will conduct air monitoring and noise testing similar to past assessments
1. Personal and area samples are collected over the shift
2. The Airzone technician will demonstrate, to the participating worker, how to attach the personal sampling equipment to their person on their own, including dust monitoring pumps, VOC samplers, CO, and noise monitors, under the following conditions:
- The equipment including the dust monitoring pumps, CO, and noise monitors will be sanitized using disinfecting wipes prior to deployment.
- The VOC monitors are freshly opened at each location and are assumed to be sterile. These cannot be sanitized using chemical agents as these will interfere with the analysis.
- The Technician will wear a non-medical mask while on-site or when interacting with people.
- The Technician will wash hands thoroughly and often and wear disposable gloves when deploying and collecting sampling equipment.
- Workers should wear non-medical masks and other PPE if available including disposable gloves when handling sampling equipment.
- The technician will maintain 2 meter physical distancing requirements at all times whether their wearing PPE or not.
We will need to ensure the sampling equipment is attached to each person properly as this may be cumbersome for some individuals not familiar with this effort. Airzone will want to maintain the validity of the samples at all times.
Option C “ Collection of Area samples only * (Least Preferred Option)
Airzone will conduct air monitoring and noise testing using area samples only. Thus, any personal samples are converted to area samples to avoid close contact with workers.
1. Area samples are collected over the shift. These are attached to tripods or setup in stationary locations such as on tables or attached to support columns.
2. The Airzone technician will deploy equipment to each area, including dust monitoring pumps, VOC samplers, CO, and noise monitors, under the following conditions:
- The equipment including the dust monitoring pumps, CO, and noise monitors will be sanitized using disinfecting wipes prior to deployment.
- The VOC monitors are freshly opened at each location and are assumed to be sterile. These cannot be sanitized using chemical agents as these will interfere with the analysis.
- The Technician will wear a non-medical mask while on-site or when interacting with people.
- The Technician will wash hands thoroughly and often and wear disposable gloves when deploying and collecting sampling equipment.
- Workers should not touch any of the sampling equipment.
- The technician will maintain 2 meter physical distancing requirements at all times whether theyre wearing PPE or not.
- Note, this is the least preferred option as the area samples are not as appropriate in defining breathing zone exposures.
