AirZone's occupational health and safety group is experienced
in the design and management of programs, audits, policies
and procedures and training programs. Our staff of occupational
hygienists have the expertise to perform inspections,
conduct training sessions, identify toxic agents, and
make recommendations to achieve regulatory compliance,
reducing risks and personal and property losses, improving
productivity, employee morale and the overall effectiveness
of health and safety at a facility.
The group is led by three hygienists, one of whom is certified by
the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ACGIH) and ROH, who together
represent more than forty years experience in Canadian government
and industry. This experience includes the design and execution of
comprehensive health and safety audits, the development of health
and safety programs and training, the assessment of health effects
from environmental contaminants, and the management of industrial
hygiene surveys. This staff of occupational hygienists, chemists,
and technologists have the expertise to identify the presence and
characteristics of hazardous materials, to design and implement remedial
measures, and to evaluate potential and monitor actual exposures.
Where appropriate, we make recommendations such as process changes,
engineering controls, and improved work and management practices,
to improve worker productivity, minimize worker health risks, and
reduce production and compensation costs.
We also maintain professional contact with experts in occupational health and industrial hygiene, as well as experts in government agencies, including the Ontario Ministry of Labour and Health and Welfare Canada. Our staff provide assistance to industry for projects requiring experimental and informed medical or engineering advice. In addition, we have been active in health and safety issues in Canada longer than any other privately owned professional services firm and have provided services to over 800 clients, including government agencies, crown corporations, school boards, hospitals, utilities, and private industry.
We have participated in labour/management negotiations and discussions
on various health and safety issues and investigations. We have contributed
to the development or revision of regulations and guidelines at both
federal and provincial levels of governments. And we have directed
the development of three community college diploma programs for occupational
health, safety and environmental technologists. We have completed
successfully many projects which have required more than ten thousand
man-hours for industrial and governmental clients from coast to coast,
as well as offshore.
