Air Dispersion Modelling
In addition to providing routine modelling of airborne pollutants with regulatory models, we also provide consulting services related to air dispersion modelling such as input and output data interpretation.

Particular applications include
  • Regulatory compliance (Reg. 346 modelling), Ontario Regulation 127 compliance modelling.
  • Environmental Impact Assessments (typically using more sophisticated models).
  • Development of decision-making tools for selection of pollution control systems.

Our modelers have extensive experience in developing specialised dispersal models for pollutant transport, from first principles, including advection of particulate matter, as well as application of U.S. EPA regulatory models (e.g., CALPUFF and CALMET) and the present Ontario Reg. 346 model. We also undertake emission inventory and estimations. Our air quality modellers work closely with the air monitoring staff to deal with atmospheric chemistry related issues.

The combination of modelling and monitoring capability ensures that work is carried out with scientific rigour, ensuring stakeholder acceptance, and in an efficient and pragmatic manner. This unique combination sets us apart from others in the field. Below are descriptions of some of our more recent modeling projects.
